Sustainable youth development partnership (SYDP) is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making organization formed in February 10, 2001 and became fully registered in March 2003. SYDP involves all youth of schools and non-schools and work Under the Ministry of Labour Youth Development and Sports in collaboration. The head office is Located at the Centre for Youth as Resources in Kinondoni ward behind Vijana Social Hall. Youth-led NGO placing Young People at the forefront of development issues, in particular Young People's SRH and HIV/AIDS

MISSION STATEMENT

Connecting youth positively to their communities and improving community life nationally and internationally through the spread of youth–led service initiatives. And most importantly "empowering youth to create a better world for all"and utilizing the available resources for their own development .

International Volunteer opportunity

SYDP is recruiting International volunteers to work in Tanzania starting from November 2005. The project inlude working with in and out of school young people between 10–28 years. Africa out-of-school youth live under the most challenging conditions and are marginalized from mainstream services and society. Street children, adolescent sex workers, orphans, and other such groups are generally, but not always, out of school. Out-of-school youth have many of the same needs as other youth, including the need for food and shelter, a sense of connection or belonging, skills in problem-solving and life planning, job or vocational training, access to appropriate services, empowerment to take responsibility for their own lives, and information on sexual health issues, including contraception and HIV prevention.

As a volunteer you will be working with this group together with visiting orphananage centre for two weeks time with a group of 10-15 people. Any one who would like to extend their stay should specify in advance.

  • TO HELP ERADICATE HIV/AIDS TO YOUTH
  • GIVE ORPHANS COURAGE AND SHOW THEM THAT SOME PEOPLE CARES ABOUT THEM TOO.

TOGETHER WITH YOU WE WILL REALLY MAKE A GREAT DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE.

How to get involved?

Registration fee $150, after registrations paid via western money union also send your 4 photograph of passport size with colour in order to help us finalize health insurance.

THERE IS A DISCOUNT FOR GROUPS. We care for your health and your satisfaction is our priority while learning Africa problems. We advice volunteer to be in category A for it cover many basic needs. However, we still have chance for category B and are applicable too. (For category B it is good for volunteer staying for maximum of three weeks only)
Application Steps

Step 1

Once Sustainable Youth Development Partnership (SYDP) receives your email, we will reply back with answers to your questions. A formal application form will be attached.

Step 2

Complete the application form and submit the hard copy through the post and email us the same completed application form at SYDP, Dar es salaam , Tanzania .

This amount is paid in money order/western Union . We can also help you to pay the application processing fee upon your arrival. This amount includes the following (photocopies, and emails, final check on work placement before your arrival, telephone calls and Initial transport to work placement,)

Let us know your area of interest after you got our application form and we will send you full details of the program


Step 4
Please allow us 1-5 working Days to process your application, match your interest, and come up with the details of your project.

Step 5

Once you get confirmation of your project(s), your host family (or other arrangements of room and food), and local contact addresses, you should start preparing for travel and obtain all necessary documents (passport, visa) and immunization

Step 6

Please kindly let us know on your flight and as soon as your ticket is bought.
